Our first ever install on a Collyweston roof had us scratching our heads on how to best approach such a complex and delicate roof; with a pitch of 45 degrees and definite shading issues the jury was out for a while considering the feasibility of the installation. With help from Sylvie Winn and Helmut Wanner at Baywa-re, who both visited the site, we used the new Novotegra mounting system complete with flashing. The Novotegra system gave us the flexibility to work with a very tricky roof- the roof hooks are fully adjustable and can be wound in to suit any roof type and they are so slim it meant minimal cuts were necessary. The hooks were then flashed over to meet MCS standards for slate roofs. The install was a great success also using a SolarEdge inverter and optimisers to combat shading issues it will
yield great results.
