Domestic solar PV in Lincolnshire: Why use micro inverters?

Data sent from the Enecsys portal confirms a fantastic annual generation total for Mr and Mrs F, near Conningsby. The system was installed in 2013 using Amerisolar 250w panels and Enecsys micro inverters onto both the west and south facing roofs of the property. It was calculated that all 3 areas of the system would be shaded at times, so micro inverters were a natural choice, especially as it meant that after an extension was finished further modules could be added if required. Micro inverters allow panels to generate individually as opposed to in a string, meaning that if one is shaded the rest are unaffected. It also means you can install modules on varying orientations and pitches, as well as increasing the array size in the future if required. Micro inverters relay information to a gateway which uploads data to the manufactures’ portal allowing remote monitoring of complete system and individual modules- a great way to keep tabs on what’s going on on the roof!
